Our Irish roots run deep
In the 60’s, founder Don Kelly began selling comptometers and electronic calculators ANITA (A New Invention To Adding). During this time, Don’s passion for excellent customer care developed strong relationships with engineers, accountants and banks. These customers asked him to start supplying stationery, printing and furniture which gave Don the idea to start his own business.
Sundry Supplies was born! Don would travel through Ireland meeting customers and delivering products from a horse box!
Don had secured many other agencies for his growing customer base and attended many showcase events in the UK and Europe too. Sundry Supplies premises were in the basement of Georgian building off Waterloo Lane in Dublin.
Considerable growth made it obvious Sundry Supplies needed more staff and a larger premises. Moved to Londonbridge Road, knocking two buildings into one. Continued to develop strong relationships with many Blue-Chip clients in the area.
As the business expanded, Sundry Supplies moved to our current location now at Burlington House, Waterloo Lane.
Don’s daughter Nicola Murray joined the business, focusing on developing systems. Invested and created our first online ordering system in Ireland to make it even easier to order.
We were tasked to source and supply Irish and US flags for the street audiences of Dublin and Limerick ready for President Bill Clinton’s State visit!
We worked with Deloitte and a waste saving product enabling them to enjoy enormous savings. Also worked with Allied Irish Bank when they implemented their internet banking rollout nationwide. Donal Murray joined the business in 2003 having sold his own business. His task and focus was to improve and our logistics, warehouse and installation teams, after completing and implementing these changes after a tendering and awarding system, Securispeed was appointed our nationwide Logistics Partner. We now know we offer best in class service to customer with our speedy reach to customers. Once this was set in play he then moved to the Finance Department in 2018 again his focus being to implement upgrades and refine the Finance Department after several upgrades and changes we now offer a streamlined and efficient eInvoicing and eStatement system to our customers.
It was our honour to work with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) during the start of the pandemic along with being a preferred PPE provider for our other clients. The third generation of our family, Samuel and Douglas, also assisted us this year to carry out their apprenticeships.
It has been our pleasure to help struggling people that were working from home, with their home office set up at short notice, providing all they needed to continue working and on small budgets.
